what do we have to be thankful for?

EVERYTHING! our families, friends, a healthy baby growing as we speak, the love we have for each other and the list goes on. We were thrilled to be able to celebrate thanksgiving up in Washington this year, since we were alone in Cali last year. Time is always too short but we made the most of it, starting on Thursday morning with Thanksgiving lunch at the Jensen's. Cindy, John, Hailee and mom's friend from work Thad came over. Rod and Kristy's clan were planning to come but got sick and opted not to share their bugs, thanks guys :) There was plenty of turkey to go around, two 20 pound birds for 8 people ought to be enough. somehow I managed not to get any pictures of the food and really only a few of anything at all. You can see Jack in his post surgery collar and what will likely be the Jensen's christmas card photo of the whole clan, thanks again for taking that Thad.

With semi-full bellies, the first meal was at 1 and the second was around 6, we headed to Papa's house for the second meal of the day. All the Garguile's were in town, including all the cousins who are now spread across the country. Noah suggested a lovely idea and everyone listed something they were thankful for. Some were short and others quite long, but it was certainly wonderful to see the love in that room when the last person finished. NOTHING beats family! I did sneak a few shots of the delish meal here, thanks to Janet for helping out ;). I would have to say the clear front runner of the day was the sweet potato casserole, which was more like a dessert. We're planning to hijack the recipe and make some of our own for Christmas, I'm certain Cindy will be loving it.

I couldn't resist a little Black Friday shopping, we started at 5am and were home around 8ish. Most of my list is D-O-N-E! To cap off the weekend we had dinner at Tony's with both the Garguile's and Jensen's, lovely time and great food but the heartburn was miserable.

Since we don't have an idea of the next time we'll be back in Washington we really savored this trip. You're all welcome to come visit anytime, baby G would love to see you once he/she arrives, just be ready to help out with dinner ;) and in case you're wondering, I didn't forget about the baby shower I'm just giving it a post all its own.
