25 weeks

Can you believe we're 5/8 done??? We're going to be 3/4 before we know it and I'm not ready for it to be over quite yet. A week ago, at 24 weeks, we hit viability. That means that if G was to come early, and we're NOT encouraging this, baby would have a good chance at survival.

Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture

A belly shot or two:

I'm certainly starting to look pregnant to everyone who doesn't already know. The patients at work are occassionally asking if something is going on but nobody in a public place has been brave enough to ask just yet. Lets get to what is new with me, since I've not really addressed much these last few weeks besides the shower.

Weight gain: about 5 pounds so far. The appetite is there in full force and Dominic is being great about pushing the protein so little G is strong!

Movement: I'm getting kicked and poked regularly now. Dominic is able to feel it on the outside regularly now, that started the day after Thanksgiving when G was going ninja and seriously trying to punch a way out.

Food Cravings: Sweets and desserts, always my favorite. I still have heartburn but the papaya are really helping still and I'm sticking with that. Occassionally I need a tums or two but that is less than once a week currently.

What I'm Looking Forward to this Week: Finishing my christmas list and the holiday decorating as well as finishing up with the organizing of baby items from the shower.

Best part of the last week? Last week was pretty boring I guess. I had a great time at the outlet malls with a few friends and Dominic and I really enjoyed our quick trip to the coast with the Heinrich's (I'll blog about that next!)
