A dog day + wine = yummy :)

Since we have done just about nothing fun lately we decided to delay the floors for this 3 day weekend and have some FUN! D'Art (the second winery we became wine club members at) was having a bottle your own wine event and we just couldn't resist...but first we headed to the lovely farmers market before the heat over took everything...Yes we bring our own bags, and yes those are the ones you saw before. We don't use them near as much as we should be we ALWAYS remember to bring them to the farmers market.

Isn't that some delish California produce. This is one of the main things that makes it nice to live here.

Although I don't normally eat tomatos unless they're mixed into something I happen to think they're just gorgeous, look at 77 all those colors

A rather small haul, but there are only 2 of us and we don't want anything to go bad before we can devour it. After a quick trip to Best Buy to purchase our first external hard drive to store all these pictures we've amassed we made it up to Lodi and boy does a glass of wine make life better!

and here is my model husband; doesn't he just look so dapper. I think he should have the cover of GQ with this lookHow to bottle your own wine.....First, sign the label

Second, get your CASE of wine ready for the process
Bottle ready to go, check!

Then, you use the contraption to fill the bottle, it magically knows when to stop A closer look

Now you put the cork in...hold both buttons down until it's COMPLETELY in place, you'll see why I say that in just a second......

It's Dominic's turn now..... But wait, what have we here?? someone must have let up a little early...hunny???
Got that one fixed and then slide on the foil Pull this contraption over the foil and it seals everything in place

Voila! we have a case of wine all filled up and ready to label with our custom signed labels
Precision at it's finest...mind you we've been drinking the WHOLE time ;)

The name of the wine is Dog Day Red and has Maggies gorgeous mug on it
Now for some chow, they had grilled sausage, salsa, chips, and great watermelon.

We just relaxed and chatted for a while before finally heading back south.
Upon getting home I gathered my coupons and made a quick CVS run, no I'm not addicted I just like to get the things we use for nothing.
total for all this $2 out of pocket and I'm down 3 CVS bucks....but I should make that back tomorrow no problem....and yes John I'll get your shampoo :)
Here's me, a completely happy camper, this was a great relaxed day, we're so happy we chose not to do the floors and to just enjoy this last weekend of summer instead.

I HATE allergies

I've been feeling a bit under the weather lately. It all started on Sunday when I was kept from my beauty sleep by some laboring ladies. It's tumbled out of control from there. Yesterday I thought it was just lack of sleep, but today I'm certain it's allergies as I can feel the heaviness behind my eyes and the pounding behind my ears. I've started on some Alavert (which I got FREE the last 2 months) and hopefully I can get this cleared up by Sunday for the shindig at Jenny's place. Wish me some healthy thoughts on my way to recovery.

Harden-Rooney wedding: a superhero marries

It's wedding day!!! We started the morning off with an early lunch at Lodi Brewing Company so we weren't starved come dinner time. It was a great chance to get some sun too!!
The wedding was at this amazing cathedral in downtown Stockton, only 30min from us, WAHOO!!! There goes Kevin to get this marriage started
Not far behind is his lovely bride, Kate and her daddy
After the mass, only my second mass EVER, the newlyweds!!!!
It was off to Kate's parents for the reception. Check out that beautiful weather. This is just before she tossed the bouquet..this was the second time in less than a year I don't have to participate in this ritual now that I'm off the market
The Cornell shot, check out all those guys...and most of them are huge. To put it in perspective the groom is 6'4"
Here is the gorgeous menu and our seating card...Mr and Mrs...sighSorta a before shot. It was darn hot outside and I was already showing the effects as you can tell
What an amazing table set up...so many flowers and wine glasses I have never seen this before and I just L-O-V-E it. This would be another great gift. It would certainly make drinking water so much more fashionable
Now we're looking more like an after shot...all that wine just beckons for me to drink it
The meal begins with herloom tomatoes and some delish cheese
an adorable first dance...the took lessons and it paid offSecond course, Ahi Tuna 4 waysHere is our table..we were down 2 because of a few no shows...PLEASE PEOPLE call and let them know if you replied yes and won't be able to make it after allDinner has arrived, my first experience with Kobe beef, yummy
DancingOf course the cake..that is a double magnum of champaign....so tasty. In case you don't know campaign is always better in larger bottles (no I don't mean because there is more of it, it's smoother)When these guys get together it involves shotsAnd a result of the shots...CRAZY dancing movesEven the bride got in on it...yes, that is Dominic you see...he was just creepin on Kev's new wife!!!Next morning's breakfast...Panera. We heard a rumor they're coming to Modesto and we're super excited. Ok I'M super excited, Dominic is already saving up ;)This truely was such a gorgeous, fun wedding. Kevin and Kate are an amazingly loving and fun couple....and I'm extra jealous of them as they're headed to Tahiti for their honeymoon
