a lazy weekend, with some work of course

It's been a rather slow weekend, with my being on call and all, but we did manage to get a few things done. The weather on Saturday was beatiful, mid 70's, and we spent a great part of the day just lounging out in the back yard in our new chairs. We purchased a stand for the umbrella I got on clearance at Pottery Barn last year and it's up and providing plenty of shade! We are still planning on making it out to another restoration hardware sale to look for the ottomans that match our chairs because we just love them so much.
The one project we tackled this weekend was a small one in the garage. We purchased more of the ELFA system and got to work fixing up this corner which houses the garden tools we use most often. They were just resting on the floor and fell over so often that it was a huge pain. I forgot to get a before of them in their precarious state but I'm sure you can imagine.
While we had the cars out we threw out a few things from recent projects that we weren't sure we could part with at the time. Not that wire shelving though, I'm still considering rearranging the office closet when we are expecting.
Here's the amazing after. The handles are just pushed into the holders and the ladder is hung on a special bracket secured in the stud. Dominic is really getting the hang of that cordless drill if I do say so myself. We have more for the long wall over by where Dominic parks but that will have to wait another day, by this point we earned a bit of relaxation.

For the record, I despise that Hitachi box in front of the door but we don't have any other safe place for the compound miter saw and with the new set up it's easily pushed over by the tools when we need the access to the back yard.

We got the teak oil a while back but the weather wasn't cooperating, ie it was raining. We finally got to it and I'm THRILLED with the results:

Do you remember the before?

In order to hopefully be needing to fit another family member in the house we are redoing our master closet but first, we needed to weed out the ill fitting, out of style clothes:

All of Dominic's 3x shirts that he doesn't need anymore...look at all the $$$ there

Here's his closet AFTER the purge but before adding me in there

Here's my purge, it might not look as impressive but I've been doing this every month or so and he hasn't My closet before

The best store EVERCloset system ordered and now we're just waiting for it to be bundled and cutLets get this baby home I cannot wait to put this together, but I certainly wasn't going to make Dominic do it on his birthday, so we'll start on Friday night
Today mar 25 at 9:37pm is Dominic's 27th birthday. I'm certainly glad that we're the same age again so he can stop calling me old :)

A nice celebration at olive garden The birthday boy himself

It was great to get three days off during the week with my hubby and nothing planned. I think we should do this every year. Love you babe

finally finishing the floors: Trim

We have postponed the final piece of the flooring for far too long. The holidays and travel have made it impossible to tackle the trim until now...last weekend we cut everything and this weekend we painted and installed it all!!! The most exciting part of this whole thing? I get to put this house back together! I can't wait to get everything organized and sorted through.

It was absolutely gorgeous this weekend and eclair was sure enjoying herself in 'her spot'

Here I am with my Wii

We had a little time left and made it to the Restoration sale in Tracy...these lovely chairs were certainly worth the price tag....LOVE THEM (they're teak and I need to learn how to care for them soon)

Thought this was a nice way to show the scale of them
