we have a COMPLETED nursery (for the most part)

Lets start from the beginning, I had very few ideas about the nursery until I got pregnant and started doing some looking into options.  I'm not really into extremely 'baby' looking decor, you know the winnie the pooh crap.  I intially thought just making the bedding would be easiest and I certainly have the means, ie mom and cindy, to make it feasable.  My wonderful mother suggested just purchasing something and we could always rework them as necessary, I think she's regretting that now but oh well :)  I did find something unisex that I liked so we went with it.  The two things that needed to be reworked were the crib skirt, I insist it always just skims the ground and never hangs way above it, and the skirt for the changing table (which is actually our old desk).  I didn't have another place to put the desk and the size is much more substancial than a typical changing table so I figured by covering the bottom I could add storage and minimize the items we needed to purchase.  Importantly, that skirt must also skim the ground.  We accomplished the skirt thing two ways, the table was easy, it doesn't move.  We just used some velcro and made it to length, check!  The crib, not so simple.  It's on the highest setting now, so the skirt is as long as it will ever need to be and will move down as G begins to stand, climb etc.  We thought of a ton of methods and actually ended up going with a combo, velcro for the sides for now and safety pins for the front always and the sides later.  There is a full panel which is tied to the back of the crib that the panels are pinned too, which makes it able to adjust to ANY level.  LOVE IT!  THANKS MOM!

Alright, on to the pictures:

What's left to do?
I think I'm going to switch the animal basket for the green with dots because you can't see the animals the way it's set up, thoughts?
I need to do something over the crib but don't have any ideas or inspiration, suggestions?
We are going to switch out the basic knobs on the dresser for g's birthday once we know what it is.
I'm going to either recover the lamp shades or get one with more basic colors, since this one clashes with the decor.

Before they left grandma and grandpa got G a pair, actually 2 but who's counting, of Jordans.  Dominic was thrilled to say the least

And the new couch got delivered today too!

33 weeks

This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.

Belly shots:

Baby G is certainly getting bigger which is making it more difficult to find comfortable positions, but overall I'm doing great.  We have a few more things to do before G gets here, like buying the stroller and having the birth tub delivered, but for the most part we're ready.  I promise that after the deliveries tonight I'll post about the nursery...I know I hinted at completion shots last weekend, but now that the glider is here I simply can't post semi-ready shots.

32 weeks

By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth.

A few belly shots:

We've been really busy this weekend with the Jensens.  They came down for a fun visit before the baby arrives and to help out a bit with finishing up the nursery.  We're just about finished with the final projects and I should have some completed shots for you in the next few days, it's looking FANTASTIC!

O'Donnell-Megaro Wedding

We took a quick trip up to Sacramento for the Megaro-O'Donnell wedding and it didn't disappoint.  The wedding was held at the gorgeous Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament and the reception was at The Sutter Club.

Don't these flowers remind you of ours?  Absolutely stunning and reminded me just how much I loved ours!

Kate and Kevin Rooney, remember their wedding?  Kate is due this coming wednesday!  She's such a trooper for hanging in there all day and even posing for some pictures.  Baby Rooney, they call the baby bear, is a delivery surprise and has everyone on pins and needles right now

The obligatory Cornell guys shot

Us girls didn't want to be left out so we decided to take one of our own

NO!  That is NOT a real beer, take a closer look.

After a little cake cutting we headed home.  Please notice just how lovely a bride Anne is, simply STUNNING!

To honor the groom, a Cornell alum, the guys sang their victory song...take a listen
