Quick trip to Seascape, CA

This last weekend the Heinrich's were kind enough to invite us along to Seascape for the night and we had a blast. We didn't end up staying, thanks to our needy pup, but we really enjoyed a yummy dinner at a cool restaurant! Shadowbrook is a great little spot in an Old World setting, overlooking Soquel Creek, with fern-lined paths, gardens, waterfalls, and a hillside "cable car" elevator to take diners to the main entrance. Plus, it's not new, it's been around as a restaurant for 57-plus years. But, the heart of Shadowbrook is a log cabin originally built as a summer home in the 1920s, and later enlarged by an English family, who added what is now known as the “Fireside Room,” with its hanging balcony and Swiss chalet decor. We were there for dinner so it was dark, but there are a ton more pictures on their site taken during the day.

We had quite the debacle when the dress code was misread...luckily a keen eye found and corrected our problem.
on the right you can see the tram that takes you down to the restaurant

on the tram, almost down
Dinner was delish, I had salmon

Dominic had the prime rib
Eric and Theresa, great company

Couldn't resist dessert! Mud pie with jack daniel's caramel sauce

We walked back up, if we were smarter we would have walked DOWN and rode UP
There were a bunch of outdoor eating areas, of course it was much too cold for that!

A quick shot before we leave, can you see the bump?

Thanks Eric and Theresa for inviting us, the trip was fun and the company was fabulous.
