46 and 47 weeks

The number of weeks is inching closer to 52 and I am still coming to terms with the fact that I have a baby and that he's becoming more interactive day by day.  I'm so proud of him for all that he's learning and how well he adjusts to life; but at the same time, I feel like I never even got used to a newborn and he's already becoming grown up.  We're working hard on a big party up in Washington and another smaller one down in California to celebrate his first year of life...really I think it's a celebration of making it through his first year for us...or maybe just ME.

Firsts:
Superbowl.  We didn't do anything crazy but did let him play with a football he got last week.

WALKING!!!  Liam took his first steps when we were up in WA but I hesitated to call it walking because one or two steps doesn't really count in my book.  Well Friday the 11th he took about 10 steps down the hall to dad.  He will still crawl unless he's enticed to walk upright because he's so much faster.  I think the other big  factor is that he doesn't like falling.  He'll take a few steps and if he gets wabbly he'll crouch down and then stand back up or just crawl.

Valentines Day.  His Valentine this year was Mommy...I mean look at his shirt, it must be :)  We celebrated on Sunday with a great home cooked meal and then just made pizza on Monday

Tattoo.  It may not be real but I say it counts.  If he ever does get a real one I'm sure it will say I love mom.
Quirks:
Something Liam's been doing for a while but I haven't mentioned before is that he takes off his left sock.  JUST the left.  He does it when we're out and he's in his bucket (what I call his car seat) or when we're just relaxing at home.  I have only lost a single sock in his entire 47 weeks and it's a miracle because the kid takes off that left one at least once EVERYDAY.  I often put shoes on just so he can't do it.  If you look close you'll see it in the pictures

Sometime recently Liam got this small soccer ball.  It was one of those little kid gift toys that offices have, I honestly don't even remember exactly where we got it other than someone gave it to him to keep him happy.  Since he's gotten it it's been in his mouth practically all the time.  He crawls around with it stuffed in there and just does his thing.  Seriously, look at how many pictures he's got it in!

You'll also see Braden this week!  I think he might have been on the blog once before but I'm not sure.  He's Brooke's youngest and comes with and hangs out with Liam during the day.  It's great to have another kiddo for Liam to see/play with.  Poor Braden gets to see what it's like to be an older sibling because Liam just follows him around ALL DAY.  It's quite funny Braden will be doing something and then Liam comes over and the Braden moves...rinse and repeat all day.

When he gets to playing he'll usually head into his room at some point and then straight into the closet to play with the extra toys (I rotate half of them into the living room and the other half in the bedroom) or the wrapping supplies.

He bit his lip last week and this week his tongue, guess he's still getting used to all those teeth

 Superbowl

 Who's number ONE baby!!!!

(thanks Brooke, we LOVE the surprise pictures we find)
working on a whole apple (do you see the left foot??)

 My heart is melting!

Valentines dinner (done on Sunday the 13th)

we were practicing for Liam's first birthday smash cake...big fat fail for looks, although it sure tasted good.

look familiar?  This is practically the same meal we had last year.  It was so good we decided to duplicate it

Just in case you thought he never cries or throws a fit

My flowers
