March 2010 babies get together!

We had a little play date with Liam, Liliana, and Elsie so they could play and the mommas could catch up...ok who am I kidding it was so we could catch up and talk coupons ;)  Here's a few pictures so you can see just how adorable they are

40 and 41 weeks

Just an update for you on the stats from his last appointment:
Height: 28.5 inches
Weight: 21 pounds 5 ounces
Head Circumference: 45cm

Mama has been busy so for the first time ever I'm going to combine weeks 40-41.  With the holidays it seems like a good idea anyway

Firsts:
Christmas!!!!  Liam didn't really open many of his presents although I wrapped them with the smallest amount of tape possible just in case he wanted to tear them apart.  I even did a few bags so all he had to do was pull out the tissue and he wouldn't do that either.  Leave it to our child to refuse to destroy something he is SUPPOSE to destroy.  Oh well.  He got a ton of stuff and I would say the holiday was a major success.

New Years!!! (We love exclamation points around here lately)  He slept through the countdown but was up several times through the night as has been the norm for the past 9 months.  The fireworks woke him a little after midnight so I suppose that counts as his celebration.  No big parties or celebrations for us, New Years eve was spent cleaning up from Christmas and getting the house organized so we could enter 2011 with a clean slate.

Arts and crafts for mama, just wait till you see the adorable ornaments Brooke did with him

What he's up to:
Liam has been standing on his own for a few seconds here and there.  He does it most often on the bed which seems funny since it's the most unstable place but that's what he seems to like.

Since his top 4 teeth have been in he's been doing this clicking thing with his teeth that just makes Dominic cringe.  I've heard that kids will often grind their teeth for a while after they come in so hopefully this is just a stage.  Plus, even though the 6 teeth are well through the surface and I don't see anymore on the way he seems to be chewing on anything in site.  His crib has these built in plastic wrap pieces on the sides or else we would have a lifetime momento of his bite impressions.

He's also been moving obstacles.  We were using the end table to baracade him from the off limits things in the living room, like dog food and computer plugs, but he's figure out how to push them out of the way.  If he can't move them he just climbs through them.  Our running after the baby days have just begun.

You might notice I've dropped the foods he's eating and that's because he's eating just about everything with the exception of eggs and honey since those are absolute no no's until after 1yr.

Diaper changes have become a wrestling match

 Santa was here!!!!!!
Santa left this piece for me, mom!
 What??
Mikey is going to be a favorite too.  He's anatomically correct which just cracks me up and Liam hasn't even figured it out yet.  I think it'll come in handy when potty training.

OH MY GOSH!  This sock monkey hat was something I put on his Amazon wishlist and Nana and Papa got it for him....I LOVE it

Thanks Means's  I'm sure this is going to be a hit for YEARS to come.  That little star lights up and everything
Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!  I might not have been born in a barn but now I can play like I was :)

Thanks Nana and Papa!  We can't wait for it to warm up so I can go on a wagon ride
Be still my mama heart!  He made this with Brooke and Braden

We love getting real Christmas cards, and we get alot!  We give alot too, I sent out about 100 this year.

Now lets start a little piece called 10 minutes with Liam.  Dominic took pictures of him for 8 minutes.  I'm going to post about 2/minute so you can get an idea of how crazy he is, he's always moving around and doing new things.  This kid certainly does a TON and explores like crazy, see for yourself:

Yeah, the dog food isn't safe anymore.  Poor Eclair is lucky if she gets fed once a day.  I just took her in for vaccines so she can go to the kennel when we're gone in January and her prior weight was 11.4 and yesterday it was only 10.8.  The good news is, this is a much healthier weight for her so as long as she doesn't continue to lose we're doing her a favor.

New Years 2011

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Obviously we've had a completely amazing 2010.  Our family expanded by one and we couldn't be busier, happier or more overwhelmed with joy.  Watching Liam grow is just spectacular.  I can't wait to see how far he comes in 2011.

Here's a recap of our goals from 2010

Mine:

1. continue to post on the blog weekly, hopefully with pictures of G outside my belly before long. DONE-we'll just ignore this last week ;)
2. revamp our budget and set better limits on my spending. umm not so much.  We did sit down last month and do a budget but with all these after Christmas sales I'm having a terrible time sticking to it.  I WILL be more accountable in 2011
3. get back to my prepregnancy weight of 140lbs. DONE, I'm actually lower at about 136 and fitting into a size 6 vs an 8 thank goodness for breastfeeding and a husband who is a great cook
4. purchase and learn to use a DSLR and photoshop.  Half done.  I have the DSLR and photoshop elements but haven't taken any classes or really learned to use the software.  I take all of Liam's pictures with the camera and LOVE IT but I really need to get better at using the features so I never need to use the flash since I can absolutely see the difference in the photo quality when I do.

And Dominic's:
1. get under 300 pounds.  Workin on it!  He's down from 346 pounds to 311pounds.  He's been working out 5-6 times a week and is making HUGE progress.  I feel quite certain he's going to surpass this goal in 2011
2. limit work hours to 45/week.  He was doing better at the beginning of the year but then lost an employee and has really been working 7-6 five days a week for about half the year.
3. win mega millions.  We're still in CA, 'nough said.  With my goal of budgeting I'm not sure this one will pan out in 2011 either, you can't win if you don't play.
4. learn to speak spanish (please note we've had the Rosetta Stone for this for 2 years now).  Zero progress.  I guess the past is the best predictor of the future.
5. keep my wife happy.  SUPER SUCCESS HERE!
6. eat dinner at the table 5 nights a week.  Since Liam has been here we've started eating at the table a lot more, probably 4-5 nights a week.  I think this success will continue for 2011 since it's really the easiest way to feed a baby.

Here are the goals for 2011:

Mine:
1. revamp our budget and set better limits on my spending.  Our goal is to save $15,000 this year and put that extra money toward our mortgage.  We have a budget in place and I have an excel sheet that should make us accountable.
2. Put the blog into a book for Liam's first year.  I've done this for the pregnancy and our first year of marriage.  I love Blurb because it 'slurps' from the blog so I don't have to reload pictures or anything
3. become proficent with the DSLR without using auto
4. bake a new loaf of bread every month.  I saw this on a blog and thought it was a fantastic way to branch out and try new recipes while eating a little healthier.  Did you know most store bought breads have high fructose corn syrup in them?? YUCK!
5. Continue to blog weekly

Dominic's:
1. work out 4-5 times a week. Weigh 260 pounds.
2. Learn to speak Spanish.

Can't wait to see how we do achieving our goals and what 2011 has to offer.
