162/365

Our first trip to the ER with Liam was today.  He has been climbing into his stroller all by himself and sitting in it.  Recently he started standing up while he was up there and then yesterday he was actually leaning toward the handle.  This morning while I was finishing cleaning the kitchen he climbed up there and managed to lean enough that the balance was off and it fell...causing him to hit his chin and split it open.  This was literally 2 minutes before Brooke arrived and I was to be headed out the door to work.  With blood everywhere and a very upset baby we opted to make a trip the the ER and get him patched up instead.  Rather than getting stitches that need to be removed and Liam would likely need to be sedated for we went the dermabond route.  He did wonderfully in the hospital until they wanted to glue him back together and then a nurse and I had to hold him down.  It hasn't slowed down his climbing one bit, he was back on the counter within a few hours of getting home.  We did move the stoller out to the garage though ;)

Here he was just playing in the morning before the big incident
He had a good time playing in the waiting room for about 5 minutes

I would give the ER a B for their work.  I now have dermabond at home because I think we could have handled the situation with less upset to Liam and quicker at home.  I had the bleeding stopped and the baby happy before we even got there.  The entire visit took 2.5hrs from door to door and we haven't gotten the bill yet so I'm not sure exactly what it cost.  Dermabond is $25 on amazon.com and I'll waive my office visit fee for my baby ;)

He passed out quickly after we got home and nursed.  I was able to get some good shots of the chin repaired since he was nice and still/sleeping.

See his little hospital bracelet on his leg still?  It's his first one since he wasn't born at the hospital.
