38 weeks

Another late post, I think I'm just going to start saying I'm waiting until Wednesday so that I have a complete idea of what Tuesday brought :)

Firsts:
teeth #4 and #5: upper right lateral incisor on Thursday and upper right central incisor on Sunday .  He'll have the upper left central incisor soon making for a total of 6!  By the time we get back to Washington he'll have a completely new smile and his bite will hurt more.

Blackmail First:
Back over Thanksgiving Liam discovered his penis.  Since then his attachment has grown fonder and this week I think he's developed that life long obsession that all men have!  Sorry buddy, but it's too funny not to share

Daily updates:
Liam is getting much more vocal.  He's gone from gaga's to more o's and ba's etc.
He's fallen asleep in the jumparoo more than once
With his new teeth he's started shifting his jaw a bit so the bottom teeth rub differently on the top..totally adorable
When he smiles he'll often squint up his eyes giving that closed eye baby smile look...even more adorable than the jaw thing.

Up at night

Dear Liam,

Tonight you were up, as you are most nights.  As I was comforting you I felt your soft cheek on my shoulder, smelled your baby breath, heard your little yawns and wondered to myself what does this little man's life have in store?  What will you be when you grow up, will you play sports, have an easy time with school, fight with your father, cuddle with me on the couch at night before bed?  You've already grown so much it's hard to remember how small you once were.  As excited as I am to see where you'll go, I don't want to leave where you are.  I love my cuddly little baby who keeps me tired by still waking up at night, insists on eating dinner before we do making us eat in shifts, gets into everything imaginable and frustrates a worn out from working all day mama because you also smile when someone sneezes, belly laugh when daddy tickles your tummy, and touch me softly when you're breastfeeding.  In just a few days you'll be an outside baby for just as long as you were inside and everyday after that the world will know you longer that I alone knew you...please don't grow up too fast.

37 weeks

I've been a bad mommy this week in terms of pictures :(  If it weren't for Brooke taking a few I would only have one measly little set of them, as it is I have 2 measly sets.  This week was a tough one.  I was on call during the weekend and Liam either got sick or just got stuffy/fussy from teething and refused to sleep much after Friday night (he slept from 8pm-6am that night but I was up delivering babies)  Basically this week was filled with breastfeeding, wiping snotty noses and soothing a fussy baby.  Still no more teeth to show for all the uncomfortableness he's having.

We did somehow manage to get the Christmas tree up and decorated!  Sorry Washintonians but I am officially a fake tree convert.  Not having to put lights up saves so much time and hassle, we can get to the fun ornament part so much faster.

Over this last week NOTHING in our house is safe from Liam.  He opens doors, tries to climb on everything and basically gets into EVERYTHING.  Current favorite toys include the paper trash in the dining room, the carbon monoxide detector, Eclair's toys, the bag of baby medicine, Kleenex and the ONE basket of stuff that is adult things in the living room, the cupboard with glass vases/cake stands, the dishwasher, shoes, and the swiffer vacuum.  Real toys that he likes include balls, the gobble and go hippo, books that have music, the activity table, and his jumperoo (back from a hiatus)

That pile of cords drives my type A personality CRAZY.  Someone please tell my husband I cringe everytime I see a cord.

36 weeks

Lots of Fun this week with many new firsts!

Thanksgiving: We had two dinners, one at the Jensen's and the second at Papa Garguile's, with a quick trip to Sue and Bob's in between.

Baptism. On Saturday the 27th Liam was Baptised at Our Lady Star of the Sea. His Godfather is his uncle Tony and his Godmother is our good friend Jenny Dragovich. Since the Mass was in the evening Liam was pretty fussy but actually calmed down during the Baptism itself. He was happy with the water being poored on his head and didn't even mind the oil, which smelled delicious by the way, being put on him.

WORD!!! Dada.  He said it on Saturday the 27th before his Baptism and as you can expect, Dominic was thrilled.  We've been practicing forever and he finally repeated it after we said it.  He's done it a few times since but he still doesn't use it on his own to call for someone or acknowlege them.

Seeing Santa, he went with Hailee Joy and did pretty good.  Not many smiles but no tears either

Third Tooth.  The left lateral incisior.
As far as his activity, he's still moving around by shuffling while holding on to objects but is becoming braver about letting go.  He climbs anything in his path to get what he wants from up higher.  He started doing this head tilt thing when he looks at people, smiling while he's doing it.  Sort of like a pose...adorable.
