Day 5: the day of the mojito

look at all those beds! This room sleeps 6 and we still needed another matress, out with the blow up

If you couldn't tell already card playing is a vital part of the trip to chelan and usually the morning begins with a game or 2

Those 2 are not related but obviously there are some similarities.

Here we are after our heavinly massages

Chelan week day 4

We usually go to Blueberry Hills for breakfast but had never picked the blueberries...until today! It was so fun to go through the bushes and pick out which ones we wanted. We did learn that Mary was right about it getting hot so if you go plan an early outing. I think the ripening berries are so pretty, all those colors of blueish purple...love it

Between all of us we had about 4 pounds of blueberries, this is 1/4 of that

Of course we couldn't leave without enjoying breakfast. At Blueberry Hills you order just after the door, find a table, and then they bring your food to you...we sat out on the deck which overlooks the bushes
Above you can see our patio, this isn't the room the Garguile's get normally because they're remodeling that building and they're a little behind schedule.
After getting back it was swimming and cards for hours

Just before dinner all the adults headed to Nefarious for a quick wine tasting, they have a large vineyard around the property which is up on a hill giving you this lovely view of the lake
For dinner we hit up a new mexican place in town that turned out to be more mex-american that we expected. The salsa was fantastic, hot and sweet with apples in it!
The youngins made the walk to a burger place since they weren't craving salsa and came back with TWO enormous buckets of fries...notice Jared snarfing down on his in the picture above.

The food was settled by this point so we jumped back into the hot tub. This thing is huge here, it's really like 3 hot tubs put together in a clover pattern
There is sunset number 2, happened while we were enjoying the jets on our backs while soaking up some clorine
And what a better way to finish the day off than a sunday with cherries on top made by Dominic

Day 3 Chelan

We woke up leasurily, packed, said our goodbyes to the Jensen's and headed to Garguile's Red Apple for some yummy breakfast sandwiches. Catching the 9am boat was perfect, we didn't have to get up early but we were still on time to be in chelan just after lunch.
A few shots of the journey from Bremerton to Chelan...how beautiful is this state!

There is Lake Chelan!! we made great time even after stopping at Crate and Barrel to exchange a few registry items (I know we were married 9 months ago, but we don't live right near one and we're still getting all that pricey silverware rounded up) Back to my story, we hopped right into our suits. Gine was already swimming when we got here...

Every time I tried to get a shot of Jared he would pose like thiscan you find Mary in this one...she's back there reading her bookWatch those Garguile boys put up this umbrella, this is just just about the funniest things I've seen. Here we are relaxing on the deck just before starting a game of yatzee which Dominic won of course
Several times the game was paused for Tim to TEXT MESSAGE! Can you believe it? We never thought we'd see the day but we're quite proud of him for tackling this computer stuff. It was back to the pool for some slide action, a short stint in the hot tub and then another card game...hearts this time, again Dominic won. Geeze hunny, let someone else have a turn for a change :)
Here I am being accosted for suggesting there may be some cheating going on, hey your mom suggested it, I only encouraged the discussion. And sunset number one, a little late but still quite amazing.
